Worked For Few Weeks, Got Millions
The CEO of the failed Washington Mutual Inc., would be earning Millions of Dollars. Mr. Alan H Fishman is entitled to get more than $13 Million, just for working for a few weeks. He was employed as the CEO of Washington Mutual Inc., before the nations largest bank was bought by JP Morgan Chase & Co.
He would be getting $13 Million for severance and bonus pay. He had signed an agreement which provides him with $6 Million Cash Severance and a bonus of $7.5 Million if he leaves his job. The board of Washington Mutual Inc., replaced Mr. Kerry Killinger with Mr. Fishman as the CEO as the bank was struggling with losses from soured mortgages.
Now with the takeover of WaMu, it is expected that the senior executives would be replaced by its new owners, JP Morgan Chase & Co., which paid $1.9 Billion. The deal was administered by the Federal Regulators who had shut down the bank.
When Mr. Fishman had taken over the bank, the bank was already in deep losses and had reported a $3 Billion Loss in the second quarter. The bank had loss its 70 Percent Face Value. Furthermore, Mr. Killinger was heading the bank since the 1990's and had built it into one of the country's largest banks.
The currect CEO Mr. Fishman was previously the president and CEO of Sovereign Bank and President and CEO of Independance Community Bank.
Japanese Space Tourist Wants Refund
A Japanese businessman, Daisuke Enomoto, has sued the International Space Station and is asking for a refund of $21 Million. Mr. Enomoto claims that he was defrauded by U.S. Firm which had arranged the Venture.
After completing training in Russia, Mr. Enomoto had planned to fly a Russian Capsule in September 2006, but he was pulled out of the mission a month before the lift-off and instead of him a Dallas Businesswoman Anousheh Ansari was given the seat.
Mr. Economoto filed the suit in the U.S. court in Virginia against the company Space Adventures. Space Adventures is the Space Tourism Company which had to take Mr. Economoto and three others into Space.
Mr. Economoto says the reason behind pulling him out according to the company was he had 'kidney stones'. But he complains that the company had through out monitored his health in the training period. But according to the company's lawyers, the company has the right to disqualify any person and this did not entitle a refund.
But Ecnomoto alleges that he was taken out, due to Ansari. Ansari has invested in the company Space Adventure and is also the winner of the Ansari X Prize which was awarded to her in 2004 for developing the first privately developed manned space flight.
Economoto has also further complained that, Space Adventures had also promised him a spacewalk while aboard the station and had collected $7 Million, though the firm claims that it had no commitment of this sort.
Mr. Economoto has filed the suit, against Space Adventures for $21 Million, none of which has been returned. Let's see who ends up with the case.

The country music star and his wife (Faith Hill) were seen touring all year round on their successful "Soul to Soul 2" tour. The duo grossed $52.3 Million in sales on the tours. McGraw was also on the 10th best selling artist on the retail. He sold 2.4 Million Albums and 2.8 Million Song Downloads.

The trio Rascal Flatts were seen grabbing alot, as their tours grabbed $41.5 Million. The new chart album Still Feels Good made these numbers grow. These guys do know how to rock the crowd. One of the toppers to shake the masses.

Celion Dion was seen grabbing $82.7 Million. She closed out her successful five years at the Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The average ticket price sold was $141. Her total album sales reached 1.3 Million Units which was helped by her new album Taking Chances.

Van Halen's reunion with Diamond Dave was so hotly anticipated that they generated $56.7 Million gross. The band has earned so much anticipation that his tours were the main source of revenue.

Official Mascot FIFA 2010 - Zakumi
Zakumi, the official mascot of the FIFA 2010 World Cup, made an appearance on the media in Johannesburg, South Africa. The appearance was made in Auckland Park, with a nice spectator. The mascot was named Zakumi, the first two letters representing the country in Afrikaans and 'kumi' means 10 in their official language.
"Zakumi represents the people, geography and spirit of South Africa, personifying in essence the 2010 FIFA world cup. We are certain we will have a lot of fun with him in the lead-up to and during the FIFA confederations Cup and the FIFA World Cup", FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke was quoted as saying.
The mascot was designed by Andries Odendaal from Cape Town, who said the animal was given green hair so that it wore a 'camouflage' on the football pitch. Cora Simpson was the costume maker who was also the costume designer of Dazzler the official mascot of the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
Pictures of Hotel Marriott Bombed - Islamabad/Pakistan
A suicide bomber blew atleast 1000 kg explosives here in front of Marriott. An explosive laden truck was rammed inside a hotel gate, which falls under a strict security zone. The attack outside the Marriott Hotel which is in the direct vicinity of Parliament House, the presidency, the prime minister's house and the state run PTV Headquarters.
The streets surrounding the hotel, looked as if its a graveyard of destroyed cars. The explosion was heard and felt even 30 Kms far away from the blast. All 290 rooms were gutted with fire, which were fully occupied at the time the blast took place.
The blast caused a huge crater, almost 20 feet wide and 30 feet deep at the main entrance of the hotel. Some around 200 cars were destroyed which were park within a 500 yards radius. Number of trees, electricity poles, and buildings were badly damaged.
Well equipped U.S. Security Officers from the U.S. embassy were seen at the place of the blast, but soon dissappeard. The hotel was totally in flames, and almost all the rooms, cafe's and the halls were completely destoyed. The Building Control Authority have declared the building as Unsafe and have told that it could fall.

Jay Rasulo, chairman Walt Disney Parks And Resorts have announced that a new promotion for the year 2009. All visitors will once this year get in for free. If its your birthday, you are more than welcome. "Every guest gets in free to one of our parks on their birthday in 2009," Jay Rasulo said at a news conference in Manhattan.Visitors will only would have to provided a valid proof, for their birth date to qualify. Birthday visits can also be registered in advance at Disney's website.
Mike Lynn a professor at the Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, said this promotion which Disney had introduced would bring in more money. The only thing that Disney would be losing would be the revenue it earns for a single customer, as it would be admitted for free. But the birthday customer would not be coming alone, it would be bringing along many other customer's for Disney. This will generate good bucks.
The birthday promotion which Disney is promoting is called "What will you celebrate?" It also includes a 30-city tour with public events featuring Disney costumed characters, beginning in Minneapolis on September 25 and ending in Phoenix in Febuary.
"Our goal is to mark the special moments in your life in a way that your family will remember forever" Rasulo said.
Miley Cyrus is planning to celebrate her 16th Birthday at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, October 5.
Hurricane IKE Washes Out Mystery
The Hurricane IKE uncovered the wreck of the wooden ship on the Fort Morgan Beach. The archeologists say the wreck maybe of the two masted civil war schooner which had ran aground in 1862, while attempting to clear the U.S. waters.
The wreck had previously uncovered also when Hurrican Camille had cleared away the sand in 1969. Researchers had identified it as Monticello, a battleship that partially burned when it crashed trying to get past the U.S. Navy during the Civil War.
Nick Jonas Is 16 - Super Duper B'day
The Jonas Brother's surely know how to through a fantastic Party. According to sources, the Jonas Brother's had rented out the Dodger's Stadium in Los Angeles on Thursday for 15 of their closest friends to play Baseball. The stadium was booked for them from 10:00 p.m to 12:30 a.m, in an attempt to celebrate Nick Jonas's 16th Birthday.
The guys were spotted earlier shopping at the Big 5 for Sporting Goods loading up on athletic gear. So how much did the actual event cost? Around $30,000. The renting of the stadium itself was so costly as they were playing in the night and had to use the lights. The lights alone had costed them more than $5000.
Nickels All Over The Highway
A truck carrying 5 Cent Coins worth $187,000, crashed on Tuesday killing one person and scattering the nickels all over the Florida Highway. The coins were totally scattered all over, and the place looked really shiny.
"It's shiny across the roadway", said a police official. "There are nickels in the grass, across the interstate." The truck loaded with the coins, was on the way to the US Treasury in Miami, from where they were to be distributed among the Banks in Florida.
The accident took place when the first truck rear-ended the other forcing the first truck to run-off the road and the second to over turn. This caused the spillway. Coins were totally scattered on the road.
A passenger in the truck carrying the nickels which had overturned, was killed, but the drivers survived and were in Stable Condition, the hospitals reported.
The secret service and US Treasury were on the scene trying to decide how to pick the coins up and also to make sure that nobody touches any of the nickels. All the nickels are scattered around and are in the grass too. The authorities would be taking measures as not to miss a single nickel.
U.S Federal Reserves Rescues AIG For A 79.9% Stake
The U.S. Federal Reserves loaned a mere $85 Billion to rescue the insurance giant American International Group Inc. (AIG), saving them from bankruptcy and on the other hand also saving the financial markets.
The action was taken up in a measure to save the Insurance giant and has been lended $85 Billion for two years in exchange for a 79.9 Percent Equity Stake.
This decision came two days just after U.S. Authorities had refused to save the Investment Bank 'Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc' , due to which it had to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
"Thank God," exclaimed Daniel Fuss, an influential bond manager who oversees more than $100 billion at Loomis, Sayles & Co in Boston. "AIG is interwoven with so many people and touches many companies around the world. This is a huge relief to many parts of the financial markets."
The Fed. had stepped in worrying that the collapse of AIG could cause far-reaching damage to the global financial system, although some people were seeing quoting as this government's step was only a short term relief but would do a long-term harm.
"What the U.S. government is doing is basically delaying the recovery of the economy really by keeping AIG alive and by going back to the printing press to issue more U.S. dollars, which long term should be negative to the U.S. dollar," said Ronald Chan, chief investment offer for Asian equities with Fortis Investments in Hong Kong, where he oversees about $1.5 billion. "Short-term, I think the systemic risk issue has been reduced on the fact that the Fed is seen to be coming out to save the market, but the recovery is going to be prolonged."
The Most Dirtiest Flat In Britain
Its Bad News for the all smart Landlord Mr. Chris Dowling, as he has been declared of having Britain's Dirtiest Flat. Mr Dowling was amazed to see his Flat which he had rented out after his tenant vacated it. The entire living room was full of Polystyrene Burger Cartons. The Hallway was full of Junk Mail and Newspapers lying on the floor. He had to literally Drag himself in to get inside.
Furthermore, he was welcomed by another scary moment, when he entered the bathroom. In the bathroom, a large pile of cigarette stubs were carefully stacked at the side of the sink. The pile of the cigarette stubs were also mixed with old shaving razors. The sink was in such a state that the shaving foam the toothpaste stains were all over. The sinks Tap was almost invisible. Loads of used toothpaste refills were lying on the floor as well as on the side of the sink. The W/C top was used as an ashtray, and the complete top was stained with black marks. It more looked as a horror film for Mr. Dowling.
Mr. Dowling stunned, immediately called up Professional Cleaners And Decoraters to sort his 100,000 pounds Studio Flat, which no more looked of that value. The whole Junk of the Burger Cartons and the takeaway detritus was loaded in a Large Van to be transported to the Disposal.
The tenant which was staying there for the past 2 years, had almost made the Flat a Junkyard. In the living area there were more than 1000 takeaway cartons and containers. There were McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other containers everywhere. Mr. Dowling was quoted as saying, "I couldn't get through to get to the Kitchen as they were stacked all around the bed. You couldn't see any part of the floor."
Mr. Dowling who runs 46 homes said, "The tenant had been smoking without opening windows and there were Nicotine stains dripping from the walls. It smelt like a giant ashtray." He also said, "In all my 15 years of running properties I have never come across anything like this before and we see all sorts."
Mr. Dowling said, he had rented out the flat to a single man in the year December 2005. He said the rent was always paid on time, and he had satisfactory credit checks. "He had always paid his 450 pound a month rent on time, by a standing order".

How To Loose Friends And Alienate People:

You wont believe it, Chubby Checker's 'The Twist', has been awarded The No 1. Song in the 50 Years Of Billboard Hot 100 charts. It has been awarded the most popular single ever.
Elvis Presley And The Beatles were not even among the Toppers. They were not even near the Top 5 list. People were really surprised with Checker's taking the Top.
"I'm glad they've finally recognized it.", Checker's was quoted as saying. He said The Twist is the only song that has made people dance 'apart from the beat'.
"Anyplace on the planet, when someone has a song that has a beat, they're on the floor dancing apart to the beat, and before Chubby Checker, it wasn't here, and I think that has a lot to do with me being on the charts," he said.

KFC - Secret Recipe Out
KFC's Secret Recipe Out...Temporarily. The Reciper which is handwritten by the great COLONEL HARLAND SANDER was removed on tuesday from the KFC's corporate offices. The handwritten recipe of 11 Herbs and Spices was temporary relocated making KFC to beef up security measures. The recipe is written on a Yellow Sheet of paper, is one of the country's Most Famous Corporate Secrets.
KFC's president was seen really nervous despite the strict security measures which had been taken to relocate the secret recipe. "I dont want to be the president who loses the recipe. Imagine how terrifying that would be." KFC President Roger Eaton.
The chain's Original Recipe is in control of only two company executives, which the company refuse to name. The recipe is available all the world, but only with a limited know how.
The fast-food company hired off-duty police officers as well as private security guards to transport the document away to an undisclosed location in an armored car. The recipe will be slid into a briefcase and will be handcuffed to the security Expert 'Bo Dieti'.
"There is no way anybody could get this recipe." Bo Dieti was quoted saying this.
For more than 20 years, the recipe has been kept in a filing cabinet which is equipped with two combination locks in the company headquarters. To reach that particular cabinet, the keepers of the recipe would first open up a vault and unlock three locks on a door that stood in fron of the cabinet.
The biggest prize, though, is a single sheet of notebook paper, yellowed by agem that lays out the entire formula - including exact amounts for each ingredient - written in pencil and signed by Sanders.

World's Largest Dancing Fountains - EMAAR
The EMAAR developers are one of the pioneer's in the development of Dubai. Emaar properties are well known for the largest project being made by them 'The Burj Dubai'.
The amazing new feature that they are bringing in the development of Dubai is the 'Worlds Largest Fountains'.
The fountains which are yet to named, will be capable of shooting water over 150 meters into the Air - the height of a 50 story building.
The $218 Million project will be the world's largest fountain ever. The project developers are declaring that the fountains will be 25 percent more larger than the Bellagio Hotel Fountains in Las Vegas, which are the previous record holders.
The fountains will shoot an approximate of 22,000 gallons of water into the air and will feature 6600 multi colored lights with 50 colour projectors.
These fountains are yet to be named.
Like the fountains of Bellagio, which contains lights and sounds. These fountains will also feature Integrated Light and sound which Emaar declare's will generate tourist from all around the world. These fountains will boost tourist to around 10 million a year.
The project will be launched in the end of the year 2009.

Google on Tuesday launched its own internet browser, opening up a new challenge in Cyber Space to Microsoft and its dominant Internet Explorer.
The California-based Web search leader said the new browser called Google Chrome would "add value for users and, at the same time help drive in novation on the web."
"We realised...we needed to completely rethink the browser," Google's Sundar Pichai said in a blog post.
The test or 'beta' version can be downloaded for free in more than 100 countries and its code will be open-source so no rights will have to be paid by anyone using or adapting the software.
Chrome is Google's latest weapon in its bid to become the leader in all internet areas. The last major browser war was won by Microsoft when it won the battle for dominance in the 1990's against Netscape Navigator. Google scheduled a briefing on the new browser, which will be available in more than 40 languages.
The move comes amid growth in browser market share by FireFox, a project of the non profit Mozilla Foundation, which ironically gets a large portion of its funding from GOOGLE.
According to estimates by the reasearch firm Net Applications, Internet Explorer is used by 74 percent of computer users worldwide compare with 18 percent for FireFox. Accroding to Google, the new browser will have several advantages including being "multi threaded" to help avoid freeze-ups.
The announcement comes as Microsoft released a beta version of IE8, the eighth major version of its Internet Explorer.
"This (Chrome) is a straight shot over the bow of Microsoft, which has tightly integrated its Live Search offering into its dominant Internet Explorer browser ( and which, surprise, is in turn tightly integrated into Windows)," said Mark Hendrickson in a posting on the technology website TechCrunch.
"It also makes for an awkward relationship with Mozilla, whose Fire Fox browser Google basically funds."
Henry Blodget of SiliconValley Insider said: "Microsoft has seen this movie before. This time , it wont like the ending." Blodget said Google is attempting to drive more people to Google Search and other applications and away from Microsoft.
"If you are thinking about Chrome as just another Web browser, you're missing the larger point." he said.
"In a couple of years, you won't be downloading Google's 'browser'. You'll be downloading Google's Software -- or, rather, you'll be clicking on a series of Google icons that come pre-installed. Specifically, you'll be working within a Google Software environment that works sort of like Windows."
